Kiyoka Kinoshita, a detective, lost her position at the Prefectural Police Investigation Division after a suspect she was holding in custody committed suicide. The team’s first investigation takes them to a rural village in Tochigi, where a mysterious series of child disappearances has occurred, with the children seemingly vanishing without a trace—a modern-day "spiriting away."
